Our story
Woori Handicraft began with the journey of Namaraj Thapaliya, who grew up in rural Nepal and later moved to South Korea in search of better opportunities.
For nine years, he worked in a CNC motor-parts factory, where he learned discipline, precision and the value of skilled craftsmanship. During his time there, a serious workplace accident resulted in the loss of part of his finger, an experience that became a major turning point in his life.
Namaraj eventually returned to Nepal with a new purpose: to build something of his own while staying connected to the skills, values and experiences that had shaped him.
That vision became Woori Handicraft.
The word “Woori” means “our” in Korean. For Namaraj, it represents a connection between two important parts of his life: his years in Korea and his roots in Nepal.
Today, Woori Handicraft celebrates Nepalese craftsmanship through meaningful handmade products, while carrying forward a story of resilience, hard work and a return to one's roots.
Every piece we share is more than a product. It carries the hands, culture and story behind it.
